| Joe Nicholson (second), with friends, winner of club's Spring '09 Door Prize donated by Tom's Trains |
Joe Nicholson, the winner of the free door prize from our open house drawing was invited to bring his train
and a few friends to the club the next week to "Play". Joe was given a choice from 7 Lionel sets that each
retail for $300.00. Joe decided to take the Union Pacific freight set.

A fine choice Joe! Between the Oohs and Aahs from club members we all said that this train
would be a welcome addition to any collection.

It seems like no story told about Toy Trains in the New York City area would
be complete without thanking Tom. Tom of Tom's Trains builds, set up and maintain (at great personal as well
as financial cost) a great many Lionel displays that make eyes twinkle on childrens faces during the holiday season.
For Tom to donate such an expensive door prize shows just how dedicated Tom is to keep the hobby alive, as well as how
committed Tom is to help support our little club. Thanks for everything Tom!

Note: No freight train is run on
our layout without a caboose. Unlike the full size railroads, we refuse to put hard working people
(plastic or flesh) out of a good job!
